Academic Achievements
A Strong Start in Science and Medicine
In high school, I was honored to be 1 of 4 students selected for a prestigious internship with the Los Angeles Pediatric Society.
This formative experience sparked my curiosity for combining science with practical applications, an interest that would later influence my passion for food science and molecular gastronomy.
Undergraduate Studies
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from the University of San Francisco, where I gained valuable insights into leadership, strategic thinking, and entrepreneurship. These skills became the backbone of my success as a business owner and executive chef.
Advanced Education at UC Berkeley
Following in my father’s footsteps, I pursued advanced studies at University of California, Berkeley, enrolling in their post-baccalaureate program.
I spent over three years deepening my understanding of science and molecular gastronomy. As part of my academic journey, I also completed rigorous Calculus coursework through UCLA’s extension program which honed my technical expertise and innovative approach to culinary arts.

Professional Experience
Executive Chef and Entrepreneur
In 2022, I co-founded a full-service in-home chef and event planning company, in Indianapolis.
I lead a talented team that delivers unforgettable culinary experiences, specializing in molecular gastronomy and artistic food plating. My work has received accolades from clients across the Midwest for its creativity, precision, and dedication to excellence.
Private Chef to High-Profile Clients
My career has also included work as a private chef to high-net-worth individuals, creating customized menus and unforgettable dining experiences for elite clients, including professional athletes and entrepreneurs.
These experiences have allowed me to push the boundaries of culinary innovation while maintaining a personal, client-centered approach.
Personal Achievements
Cancer Survivor
In 2012, I was diagnosed with MALT lymphoma, a rare type of cancer. Lymphoma runs in my Dad’s side of the family.
Through determination, early detection, and the support of my medical team, I completed treatment and am now cancer-free. This journey taught me resilience and inspired me to advocate for others facing adversity.

Advocate for Women in Culinary Arts
As a single mother and business owner, I am passionate about supporting women in the culinary industry. I actively mentor aspiring chefs and share my story to inspire others to pursue their dreams, no matter the challenges they face.
Continuing the Journey
Launching Chef Bex Food Science
Today, I am building my next chapter through Chef Bex Food Science, a platform dedicated to educating and inspiring home chefs and culinary enthusiasts. My Mom called me Bex, she died recently, and was my biggest supporter.
From online cooking classes to engaging digital content, my goal is to make the art and science of cooking accessible to all.
